Home Décor SU Style Blog Hop August 2018

Yes, I know it is September already, but this hop was slightly delayed, so August hop it is.

We are heading to Denmark in a couple of weeks where we will be welcoming a new little niece of nephew. That means that our 2 year old niece will become a big sister and we thought she might need a little big of something J

This is what I came up with – a mermaid shaker frame

I sponged the background with pool party, Bermuda bay and pear pizzazz and then dripped water over to create the little drops/bubbles in the colouring. I stamped the grass image from Magical Mermaid in pear pizzazz.

I stamped the mermaid with versamark on shimmer white paper and gold embossed her. Then I watercoloured her with lovely lipstick, gorgeous grape, early espresso and petal pink.

This frame is just a cheap frame and had lying around. I decided not to put the glass back in as a shaker frame with glass might not be the best thing for a 2 year old.

  

I stamped the ‘mermaid kisses and starfish wishes’ with staz’on on the window sheet.

I then added some different sequins and shaker frame is ready.

Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop July 2018

Today it is time for another bloghop. Another piece of home décor to show you.

This one is a little frame for my youngest daughter.

I wanted to use the new designer series paper Twinkle Twinkle that is part of the current promotion, buy 3 get one free. The colours in this paper are a mix of old and new colours – Gray Granite, Night of Navy, Petal Pink, Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White.

I started with a piece of dsp in the background. This piece is Petal Pink with Whisper White with star constellations, and is super cute.

I then added a piece of Whisper White. Here I stamped the twinkle twinkle sentiment from the Little Twinkle stamp set. I stamped this in Night of Navy. I also stamped the hearts image from the Little Elephant stamp set with Real Red.

I then stamped the two little elephants from the Little Elephant stamp set in Basic Gray on Whisper White and punched them out with the new Elephant Builder Punch.

I used an old alphabet die set to cut the ‘Ella’ out of the Night of Navy Card Stock and used the Twinkle Builder Punch to punch some stars out of Crushed Curry card stock.

I put it all together and voila – frame is ready J

Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop June 2018

Today i am participating in my first ever blog hop. It is the ‘Home Decor SU Style Blog Hop June 2018’. You may have come to me from Jenny Hall, and what a beautiful project Jenny has made.

Such an amazing hop today. 20 very talented ladies are sharing their home décor creations and they are from all over the world – how exiting is that.

My creation for today’s hop is something I have been meaning to do for quite a while.

I have 2 girls and the oldest is obsessed with the alphabet, writing and learning to read. She is 4 and ready to start school after Christmas. She already knows her ABC and loves to write letters, so have been thinking she should have her very own alphabet.

And here it is:

The alphabet is cut out in Basic Black cardstock using the Large Letters Framelits.

I used the new Animal Outing stamp set and the coordinating Animal Friends Thinlits Dies from the new annual catalogue. I also used the Frames Elements from the same suite – Animal Expedition. Love this suite.

I have coloured the animals with my Stampin’ Blends. I have used the Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, and Crumb Cake pairs as well as the bronce, light Pumpkin Pie and light Flirty Flamingo. I dipped the wooden hearts in my Lovely Lipstick ink pad, just for a pop of colour.

I cut the little leaves in Lemon Lime Twist and the animal print behind the giraffe in Crumb Cake.
