Reverse Masking - Totally Techniques Blog Hop

It's Technique time!

This month's Totally Techniques' Blog Hop is Reverse Masking technique. For this one, I had an idea what I wanted to do, but I still struggled a bit with the execution.

However, I am pretty happy with the end result.

I knew I wanted to use the Crafting With You bundle, which i only just received and hadn't opened yet.

Here is my card:

I wanted to use the canvas stamp and die, but also needed to the do the reverse stamping. So, I cut out the canvas from copy paper and then cut in the inside of the canvas out to use as my reverse mask. I stamped the full canvas and easel in Copper Clay on Basic White. I then used my copy paper canvas and ink-blended the cut-out part of the canvas with Moody Mauve ink.

I then stamped the greeting with Early Espresso ink on top of the ink-blending, before cutting the easel and canvas out with the coordinating die.

I had already cut my piece of patterned paper from the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper but thought my easel and canvas kind of got lost on the paper, so I cut a circle from Boho Blue cardstock to layer behind and lift it up a bit. I also used Boho Blue as my card base.

I stamped the paintbrush image twice, in Boho Blue and Moody Mauve ink.

I stamped the basket with Early Espresso and coloured it with a Blend.

Finally, I added some 2023-2025 In Colour Dots for a bit of bling.

This technique is super easy and versatile, and you can use it for anything you wish. Make sure to hop around and see what the rest of the Design Team came up with ðŸ˜„

Pop up fun fold card - Fancy Fold blog hop

It is time for another fancy fold, and for this month it is a surprise fold 😊

It appears to be a newish fold and on the tutorial we went by this month, see Cheryl's video and examples here

This card has quite the impact, but is super easy and you can make it as fancy as you like.

You start with the 12" x 6" inch piece of card stock and score it at the long edge at 2", 4", 6", and 8" inches. then you turn and cut between the 2" and the 6" inch scores at 1,5" and at 4,5".

I didn't have a 12" piece of card stock in the colour i wanted, so i still scored at 2, 4, 6 and 8, but then cut at 9" and added an extra 4" piece of cardstock at the 8" mark to extend it. I used Night of Navy for my card base.

I cut strips from 2 different designs of the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper to decorate the folding panels. at the middle pop-out panels i added Basic White card stock. One I left blank the other i stamped with the group of flowers from the Sentimental Park stamp set in Night of Navy and Balmy Blue ink.

For the card at the back i cut a piece of Baisc White card stock at 7.5" x 5 3/4" and folded in half. First I stamped the YOU from the Sentimental Park stamp set in Night of Navy ink before I ran the front panel through the cross hatch embossing folder from the set of Basic 3D Embossing Folders.

On the inside I stamped the group of flowers in Night of Navy and Balmy Blue.

I stamped the big flower a couple of times in Night of Navy and Balmy Blue on a scrap piece of white and cut out with the Sentimental Park dies. I also cut several the leaves and flower stem out of Night of Navy and cut some small flowers in Balmy Blue and Night of Navy. I layered a couple of the small flowers and added this with the stamped flowers and the cut leaves and stem to the embossed front.

For the front focal point i cut a decorated label in Night of Navy and a basic label from Basic White. I stamped the sentiment on the white and adhered it to the Night of Navy label piece. I then added some small cut Balmy Blue flowers on top and behind some of the flowers on the label. I then adhered the label to the front panel.

This was a really easy card to do and it doesn't require much extra decoration if you added some of our pretty Designer Series Papers. But you can go all out with this one if you choose - there are no limits.
