Explosion card - Fancy Fold blog hop

And here is post 2 for today.

The Fancy Fold this month is an explosion card. There are many different types and versions of explosion cards and this is one I haven't tried before.

We used this tutorial from Tami White, and it is easy to follow with a downloadable pdf with measurements and instructions.

I decided to use the Cheerful Daisies bundle and the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper.

For my base card I chose the Pebbled Path. I am really liking this colour and it pairs so well with the Fresh as a Daisy paper. It is so far my favourite of the new In-Colours. I often don't even start using the new In-Colours until half way through their second year, when they are getting close to retiring, so I am glad I discovered it already now.

I used the Boho Blue piece with the white daisies on it for the front and inside panels. It was probably a bit wasted on the inside panels, as you hardly see it when you add in the folding/explosion mechanism, but that is how it goes sometimes. I used another Boho Blue piece for the folding/explosion part. For the center panel I matted with Pebbled Path under my Basic White square.

For my square I first stamped the medium daisy in second generation Boho Blue ink. And then I did second generation Copper Clay for the center which is the same daisy center colour on the dsp.

I stamped the greeting in Versamark and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Finally, I added some Pebbled Path splatter with my Stampin' Write marker.

I did the bellyband in Pebbled Path and added a Basic White label from the Cheerful Daisies dies. I cut a couple of the bigger daisies from Basic White card stock and added some Boho Blue ink with a sponge dauber and daubed some Copper Clay ink in the center and layered them. I finished it off with some Wink of Stella on the top layer petals and the center.

I adhered a couple of the leaves to the back and adhered it all to the label with a dimensional.

I am really liking this card and the fold is fun and easy. Depending on the amount of stamping and die cutting for the inside center and the belly band decorations this card can be put together in 30 mins - love quick cards.
